On top of that, Righeira duo was under La Bionda Records, another great duo who did massive stuff.

The you have Goody, Best Records and others and Italo Disco was the peak of electronic music in Europe (to a point that until now Nordics countries are so fanatic about it!)

As always, grazie Angelica!

Thank you so much! I think we did cover La Bionda in the post titled “italian vs Italo disco,” but who keeps track now (well, I should).

Wearing that outfit with an abundance of chest hair… how lucky can you get? 😁 And yes, I completely agree about Kano and Koto. Great article in the Guardian btw, Angelica!

Hahaha Pe, i wonder how much geography impacts the chest hair discourse! My husband (bostonian, british isles ancestry) wears a tshirt under shirts to conceal any semblance thereof! In italy it’s a mixed bag. I have friends who wax during the summer months (chest and back), others who let it run wild

I think the whole chest hair subject is a universal one 😁 We have friends who have absolutely no problem with it whatsoever, while others shave everything off until they look like spring chickens again. A fun subject though. Maybe I should do an episode about chest hair and disco 😂

honestly, Italo Disco is both perfect vamos a la playa summer escapism as these guys celebrate - but also conjures for me cold war 80s vibes (there was sometimes a Russian flavour to some tracks!?) - not inappropriate in today’s similarly fearful geopolitics

That’s so true, and i feel the same about Peter Schilling or Nena, their sound being representative of the end of the cold war! That’s actually a topic worthy of another piece :)

absolutely! i’m here for it 😀
